Matthew Silvestri
My name is Matthew Silvestri and I am from Scranton, Pennsylvania. I attended college and graduate school in Massachusetts. I received my Bachelor's in English and education from the College of the Holy Cross. I received my Master's in education from Boston College. Reading is my passion. I feel that the activity empowers great thinkers to approach the world in new and exciting ways. Teaching at RES gives me the opportunity to work face to face with students across the world. We develop our skills through a number of activities made possible through the use of technology. I take great pleasure in working with our wonderful students every Sunday morning. When I am not reading and teaching, I enjoy going for walks and playing basketball.

Kaitlyn Cristenson
My name is Kaitlyn Christenson and I'm from Canton, Michigan. I went to college in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I received my Bachelors degree. I now live in Japan, where I teach English. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, watching movies, and cosplay. I also enjoy traveling.

Dylan De Main
My name is Dylan De Main from Broken Hill, Australia. It's a mining town in outback Australia which I left in order to attend university a bit closer to the city. I studied a politics/sociology degree and then a Masters in education (P-12) at La Trobe University, A. I've always enjoyed learning about the world and it's fascinating cultures and histories. Teaching has given me a way of sharing that passion with children. After graduating I taught both elementary and high school in rural Victoria for a few years before deciding to move to Japan and teach English. I have enjoyed teaching in Japan and at RES. I think English is a great way for children to think creatively and critically about all areas of life in an enjoyable and interesting way. I look forward to all my lessons because of the creative and interesting contributions of my students. My interests outside of teaching include reading, sport, exploring and watching movies.

Ralph Caton
Hello, my name Ralph, and I am a friendly, experienced, and energetic person. Currently, I work as a teacher in Japan. I firmly believe that learning can be fun, and that when students enjoy what they are learning, they learn more effectively. My goal as a teacher is to enable students to reach their full potential by engaging their interests within the context of the English language. My educational background includes achieving the N3 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) in December 2022. I love learning Japanese! I also have a CELTA (Certificate of Education, Learning and Teaching Adults) from the University of Bristol, as well as a Master of Arts in English Literature from The Open University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Wales Swansea. Additionally, I love playing the piano, and do piano concerts often. Beyond my work life, I am passionate about staying active and taking part in various sports such as soccer, badminton, and touch-rugby. I also enjoy giving my time and skills to help disadvantaged students learn English through playing the piano. In my free time, I love immersing myself in the beautiful Japanese culture, improving my musical talents, and indulging in my love of literature by reading novels.

Matthew Kovich
My name is Matthew Kovich and I am from Seattle, Washington. I attended college in Spokane, Washington where I received two bachelor degrees in East Asian Studies and Japanese with a minor in International Business. After finishing college I moved to Japan to begin teaching English. I have been teaching English to elementary school students up to high school students and adults for the last few years. I believe that learning a foreign language gives us the skills and confidence to go into new and different situations and try new things. I have really enjoyed living and teaching in Japan for the last few years. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, watching movies bicycling around my city and hiking with friends.
